MOLTEN CAKE

Guest post of the week by Brittany Booker

I was watching the “Today Show” and saw a really great recipe for a molten chocolate cake that Martha Stewart cooked with Al Roker on the show. I got really inspired and decided that I wanted to use my tv internet bundle and log onto the NBC website and rewatch the clip. They had a step by step instruction for the recipe. I also watched the clip several times to make sure that I was going to be able to cook it just like Martha. The only thing that I needed to get from the store were the actual little ramekins that I didn’t have at home. I stopped by TJ Maxx on the way home from the grocery store and picked up five of them. They were a great price, only two dollars each ( compared to the ten each I would have paid at Williams and Sonoma). Making the cake was a lot easier than I expected it to be. It was a great success. My husband loves molten chocolate cake. He may have just been yanking my chain, but he said that it was the best molten cake that he had ever had in his entire life. I love to bake!

TV in my car

Author: Jonathan Suarez

I do not know if there is a way to do this, but if there were a way to have direct tv tampa in my car, that would be great. They have cars with TVs for watching movies in them already. They even have cars that have build in GPS and where you can get music and radio applications. I do not know that you can stream movies or TV in a car yet. I do not know if it would work unless you had Internet connection in your car like you do on phones when there is not WiFi. That could be pretty expensive I guess. I think it is only a matter of time before that probably comes. Just think of what you could watch in your car! You could watch any TV show while you ride to the beach. You could stream Netflix and watch movies too. It definitely seems like a great idea to me, but I think it would not happen overnight. They would have to figure out how to do it cost-efficiently, I guess. I am excited for when someone starts letting people to have TV in their cars, but maybe that is too crazy or just not possible.

Second Life As A Hobby

Second Life is a community of people from all over the world and in a variety of different countries, this is a game and a place where one can go to chat to people for a bit of company. It is a hobby because after work or during break time many people come onto Second Life if their bored or need something to do, having of been witness to this myself by talking to other friends. Inside there are games within a game that one could play and actually have some fun just with any other hobby, there are however people who take this seriously.

Taking Second Life seriously is usually done because in a sense you can earn a little bit of money from the game, lindens is second life currency which can then be converted into United States dollars. So rather than this game being a hobby it can also become much like work, a  lot do work from home just doing second life and creating items on it. Creations can take the form of clothing, boots, houses and a variety of buildings, others may include books and things people can use.

In all honesty one should not take Second Life into some kind of seriousness but there will always be those who do as it is a game which can be a past time or hobby in a sense of mind, if you do join the game just sit back, relax and have some fun in a world made to be your fantasy world a place you can enjoy and be what you want to be.

The Apprentice--my favorite reality TV

Posted by Von Battle
Reality TV, with its (supposedly) unscripted dialog and action, has been a staple of American culture at least since the beginning of the television boom that followed World War II (back then we had Candid Camera").
Of all the reality shows that have ever been put on, my favorite is "The Apprentice" featuring Donald Trump. It is now in its seventh year and is about to enter its eleventh episode. I've watched it on satellite TV, that I got after seeing these http://www.directstartv.com, ever since it first came on in 2004, and the show has a lot of valuable lessons to teach about efficient business practices€”and about life in general. The seriousness of the project is shown in the fact that the finalist gets to manage one of Trump's companies. All the rest are fired, one by one.
The very first task Trump gave the apprentices was one of the first businesses that people often go into as kids€”selling lemonades to thirsty pedestrians in summer. Other tasks have involved restaurants, car commercials, and product characters. Once Martha Stewart did her own version of the show. More recently, celebrities have been featured on "The Apprentice."
Some of the candidates were poor workers and even contemptible figures, and we're glad to see them fired. The very first member thus dismissed gave the excuse that "sales is not my forte."
Of course, the best part of the show is at the very end, when Trump gives one of the two remaining candidates the "welcome aboard."

Deployment

Author: Joyce Mccall

Terrified. That’s what I am at the moment. Nathan left last month for deployment in Japan for six months and I’m now a stay-at-home wife (a very pregnant and swollen one, at that) trying to figure out how to prune shrubs and kill spiders without crying. No, it really has been fine. We have some incredible neighbors who have helped immensely since Nate left. I have had to kill a few bugs in the wee hours of the morning when I’m suffering from insomnia and I know it would be slightly annoying to call a neighbor. I am pretty proud of myself, actually. On Sunday, I noticed that the temperatureswere dropping outside and since I’ve been extremely hot-natured for the past three months and still felt chilly, I thought it might be time to crank up the heat in the house. I checked our bill from last year and researched http://NewYorkEnergyRates.com to make sure we were still receiving the best price. Nate would have been so proud of this typical over-spender. Now if I can just get a handle on the baby spending…

Facebook

This guest post from Doris Dillon

Everyone knows that Facebook is the biggest and the best when it comes to social media. It has changed from just a place to meet up with your friends online to so much more than that. Companies can use it to grow their businesses. They can create ad campaigns specifically designed for the people the ads are served to. People who would have unsuccessfully started their own small business have been far more successful than they could have been in the pre Facebook era.

For me I access Facebook via direct tv satellite internet and it is one of the best ways to keep in touch with friends that I may not have had the opportunity to keep in touch with otherwise. There have been times when I have found old friends from school and have been so excited to see them and their husbands and children. It is really a neat site to be a part of. It does have its drawbacks though.

If you put too much information on your profile you can be subject to someone hacking your account or taking your information. So a good rule of thumb is don’t put anything on your profile that you wouldn’t tell a stranger on the street.
